A POP3 account is a "mailbox" that holds your emails on the server until you view them (download them) with an email program. An email program is software that runs on your computer, such as "Outlook Express" or "Eudora" or "Pegasus Mail". There are literally thousands of other email programs available; we recommend that you use "Outlook Express", as it comes for free with every Microsoft Windows installation

» Do you offer mailing lists?

All hosting plans do offer mailing lists. The amount of mailing lists you can create is the same as the number of POP3 accounts you are allowed to have for your account. Example: If you can have up to 50 POP3 accounts, then you can have up to 50 mailing lists as well.

» Do you offer auto responders?

Each of our plans comes with auto responders for Email. An auto responder is an email address that sends an automated response back to every email address it received a message from. You will be able to define the subject and content of the email that gets sent back in your hosting control panel.

» Do you offer Email forwards?

Yes we support Email forwards.

» Do you offer web-based Email?

Yes, you will be able to access your email from the web from any remote location that has a connection to the Internet.

» Do you support FrontPage 2002?

FrontPage is fully supported by our Professional hosting plans.

» What is the difference between Linux and Windows accounts?

Microsoft Windows NT and UNIX (of which there are many varieties, or flavors, including Red Hat Linux, AIX, Solaris and more) are computer operating systems. Both Windows NT Server and quality UNIX implementations are enterprise application servers that can be used for a variety of critical purposes, including, but not limited to, Web, email, and database hosting. Windows NT was developed by Microsoft and is, in many ways, the flagship of their software solutions. Microsoft spends millions of dollars developing and supporting Windows NT.

» Do I have access to the tech support center 24 hours 7 days a week?

Yes our technical support center is open 24 hours 7 days a week to provide service for our customer round the clock.

» How long does it take for my account to be setup after signing up?

Your account will be setup within 24 hours of sign-up. You will receive an account information email within 24 hours after signing-up. Should you not receive an initial email from us immediately after you sign up, you need contact us.

» Is my Macintosh machine compatible with your hosting plans?

Your Macintosh or Apple machine is fully compatible with our hosting plans.

» Do you place advertisements on customer's websites?

We do not advertise on our customers websites.

» Is the data center completely owned by you or do you Colocate?

The data center is fully owned by us and we do not Colocate.

» What is the difference between domain and a sub-domain?

The difference between a sub-domain and a domain name can be explained easily. While a domain name is a full website address, totally independent of other domain names, a sub-domain depends on a domain name. If for example "yourdomain.com" is your domain name, then http://yourdomain.com and http://www.yourdomain.com would be your domain name's address. A sub-domain name would be a name *under* your domain name, something like "subdomain.yourdomain.com". Its address would then be: http://subdomain.yourdomain.com and http://www.subdomain.yourdomain.com. It can say anything you want instead of "sub-domain" and the nice thing is that unlike a full domain name, a sub-domain does not need to be registered - we will register it for you.

» What is FTP?

FTP means File Transfer Protocol and is an internet protocol with which you can transfer files over the Internet. It is fast and reliable.

» Can I use my existing domain name?

Yes. You can transfer an existing domain name to PNDC.

» What is “disk space” and how much do I need?

A website consists of text, graphics, sound, and image files. Disk space is a measure of how much space these files take up on a web server. The amount of disk space you need depends on how much content you plan to have on your site. In general, images, graphics and sound files require a lot more space than text.

» What is "bandwidth" and how much do I need?

Every time someone visits your site, data (text, images) flows from our web servers to your visitor's computer. Your bandwidth is the total of all data requested by all your visitors. The larger the files on your website and the more visitors you have, the more bandwidth you need. Bandwidth is the key to ensuring that your website is visible to all your visitors.
